I have hesitated to read BEYOND VARALLAN by S.L. Viehl because of the ending.<g> I took a peek. So I waited and I now have ENDURANCE in my hand.<g> Yes, I peeked again and it does have a HEA ending that I'm very pleased about so I started BEYOND VARALLAN and am enjoying it immensely. Its so different. I love the medical aspect of it and getting a full look at different aliens and their medical problems besides great characters, plot and romance.<g> And now I won't have to wait out the cliffhanger ending. I wonder if ENDURANCE is the last book in the series. Does anyone know?--Linda (6 Jan 01)
This begins shortly after the end of STARDOC with the heroine having been given sanctuary and adopted by the Toran clan, a Jorenian clan, and living with them on their starship. She is in training to take over from the chief Jorenian medical doctor, having conflicts with a jealous co worker, and still confused about fellow human Reever (Duncan). And on the run. These books are like no other. A scifi medical suspense, alien contact romance.<g> I loved it!! Never a dull moment. A gutsy heroine who is also a totally dedicated doctor.
The only bad thing about this book is the ending. A total cliffhanger filled with betrayal. You definitely want the third book on hand or it will drive you crazy! (It would have me.) There is a lot more to this book than I'm saying but I don't want to give away all the amazing surprises.--Linda (9 Jan 01)
