Each book is a separate stand-alone romance of the family that starts with an earth dweller cast into alternate fantasy land and having to find a husband who is a somewhat boorish (but he grows on you) demi-god. Don't be dismayed when he dies halfway through the book--he is after all a demi-god and he comes back.
